What is Film?
Film photography captures images on light-sensitive film, which is developed through chemical reactions. Unlike digital photography, where images are stored as digital files on memory cards, film results in tangible negatives or prints. There is an added level of excitement with film because you don't get instant feedback the way you do with digital. The roll of film undergoes an extensive developing process before the images are revealed. When you add film to your session, I will capture photos throughout our shoot on my film camera! You will receive around thirty photos shot on 35mm film in addition to your selected digital package.
WHY ADD Film to your shoot?
Adding film to your photoshoot with me brings a unique, timeless quality that digital photography simply can’t replicate. The rich textures, organic colors, and stunning depth of film create a nostalgic, yet fresh look that enhances your photos in ways that feel personal and authentic. Each shot on film is thoughtfully composed and deliberate, offering a more intentional and meaningful experience during your session. Whether you're seeking a vintage vibe, natural tones, or just something different, film adds a special touch that captures moments in their truest form. By choosing to include film, you're not just getting beautiful photos—you're getting a piece of art that will last a lifetime.

The best of both worlds
Film and digital photography complement each other beautifully because they bring out the best qualities of both mediums. Digital photography offers the flexibility of instant feedback and the ability to capture a wide range of moments without worrying about exposure or film limits, allowing for a more dynamic and spontaneous shoot. On the other hand, film provides the opportunity to slow down the process and contributes rich colors, natural grain, and soft imperfections, creating photos that feel more organic and intimate. By combining both, you can create a balanced body of work—digital for the crisp, action-packed shots and film for the atmospheric, emotive portraits. This hybrid approach gives clients a diverse set of images that showcase the perks of both styles, giving the final collection a sense of depth, authenticity, and creative flair.

"Gracie made me feel super comfortable around her. I honestly felt like I have known her forever. I picked the film add on which I have to say was 10/10, I almost cried looking at my photos because they were amazing. I chose film because I just love the way they look, I feel like it shows the realness and makes the photos look more alive. Film adds more genuine feeling to the photos. Being at the beach and having one chance, one shot for the photo was really fun because it felt more in the moment than anything. I would highly recommend also adding on the film option to your photos. These photos didn’t make me feel like I was fake, but genuinely showed the way I looked in person more than anything. I’m so glad I booked Gracie and you should too!" - Mack Whitworth
