Most seniors don’t start thinking about graduation until Spring — and by then, everything starts piling up. Between final projects, job applications, spring break trips, greek life weekends, cap and gowns on backorder, and event planning, it can get overwhelming fast. Taking your grad photos in the Fall lets you check one big thing off your list early, so you’re not scrambling later when your schedule is already packed. With the extra time and room to breathe, fall shoots provide better preparation, a more seamless shoot, and all the signature grad photos at your university!
Why fall?
Taking grad photos in the Fall means you’ll avoid the chaos of Spring when everyone else is trying to do the same thing. Campus is quieter, popular photo spots are wide open, and you won’t have to wait in line or rush through your session to avoid crowds. Not to mention the benefit of the fall weather - you won't be sweating from excessive heat meaning your hair and makeup are also ten times more likely to cooperate. It also rarely rains during the Southern California Fall season which minimizes the possibility of needing to reschedule, however, rescheduling is much more doable in the Fall if needed! With a lighter fall schedule, I’m able to deliver photos faster—so you’ll be posting your grad pics long before the Spring crowd even gets theirs taken.
Fall grad sessions have the same gorgeous, natural lighting as Spring - soft, natural, and flattering - nothing changes there. Photoshoots do start a bit earlier in the day to catch the best of golden hour before the sun sets, but this means you’ll be all done up and free to enjoy the rest of your day looking your best!
